In 2010, New Zealand announced that its national earthquake and tsunami warning system was fully completed and put into operation. The earthquake and tsunami warning system was constructed in collaboration with international multilateral cooperation and efforts including those of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). As an important component part of the global Pacific tsunami monitoring network and the latest application example of related advanced technologies, it is worth learning from many aspects such as system configuration, disaster response and early warning information release mechanism.
