Recently, heavy-ion beams have been used as novel and efficient mutagens in plant breeding. Many plant variations were induced by irradiation, and many novel experimental materials and practical cultivars were generated[1]. It is well known that high-LET ion beams are higher than low-LET radiation such as X- and γ-rays for relative biological effects. The mutations caused by ion beams ten times are effectively more than other sources of radiation such as X-rays[2].
