Since about 2540 BC, the Great Pyramid of Giza (now 138.74 meters high) was built, and the building began to challenge at high altitudes. Japan, for example, completed the construction of a tower of 333 meters in height in December 1958. Since the 1960s, the world’s buildings have started to develop toward higher levels. Undoubtedly, the world is at an unprecedented period of rapid development of high-rise buildings. From Moscow to Dubai, from Shanghai to San Francisco, increasingly dense cities, higher and higher buildings continue to emerge. The sharpest problems that accompany cities as they grow taller and taller also challenge us - how to deal with high-rise (or super-tall) fires?
