深眼作业时,有时会出现槽子“炸死”一长截的现象,若在炸死的槽子附近打眼,就有可能引起老眼爆炸,为此,冶金部规定严禁打老眼。有些凿岩工以为采用开大水门、半风推进等办法打老眼可以避免事故发生。而在实际爆破中情况复杂,会由于被炸死的岩层软硬不一,以致难以控制掘进速度;或者因水量不足而使未爆炸药不能全部溶化;特别是挤压在炮眼中的物质,除了已成为高密度的炸药外,还可能留下雷管以及岩石碎屑等等,这些因素都可能造成在炸死区打眼发生爆炸事故。因此,从技术上解决深眼掏槽的炸死问题,是保证爆破安全的根本。
