Co-operative medical insurance refers to a social security system that provides mutual assistance through joint fund-raising through a variety of cooperation methods and on the risk of expenses incurred by participating members in disease prevention and control. How to develop and perfect the cooperative medical insurance is the most important issue nowadays. In our opinion, to form a system of cooperative medical insurance, we should take cooperative medical care in rural areas as the basis and make the integrated medical insurance and the overall risk management of major diseases even integrated.
