Ｚ Ｚ Ｔ０３ 型转轮具有良好的水力性能， 它适用于水头为９ ｍ 及以下水头段， 为研究其水力性能作了有肘形尾水管和直锥形尾水管的两种试验。试验成果表明， 该转轮可以取代原 Ｚ Ｄ７６０ 转轮， 并为原装有 Ｚ Ｄ７６０ 水轮机的水电站增容改造提供了较为理想的转轮， 由于其流道与 Ｚ Ｄ７６０ 相同， 电站只需更换转轮就可达到增加机组出力、提高电站经济效益的目的。
