2006年6月的上海国际地产大会虽被一些媒体称为“地产界的APEC会议”,但令人莫名的是,不但其中国内外各20名地产巨头参与的“10+10圆桌会议”开得神秘莫测,连平时喜欢作秀的地产大佬们也一反常态,出言谨慎,异常低调。这次大会正值“国六条”及相关条文发布之际,对此“首创”董事长刘晓光一再表示：对“国六条”一是拥护,二是执行,三是等待具体细则；华远集团总裁任志强更是缄口不言；王石除了谈“社会责任”,就是讲“企业公民”。倒是“凡夫俗子”们耐不住了,各种研讨会开了一大茬,结果也没找到战略上的突破口。
