Objective To analyze the main factors that lead to postpartum hemorrhage after maternal cesarean section and to discuss the effective prevention and control of postpartum hemorrhage. Methods The clinical data of 2556 maternal births in our hospital from March 2012 to May 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. Results The average amount of bleeding, the observation group (1169 ± 996) ml, while the control group was (684 ± 332) ml, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P <0.05). The uterine inertia, placental factors, incision laceration is the main cause of postpartum hemorrhage. Conclusion The women who delivered by cesarean section had higher postpartum hemorrhage rate and bleeding volume than those who delivered spontaneously vaginally. The standard operation should be improved during operation, the indications should be strictly controlled to minimize the postpartum hemorrhage probability.
