Recently, a latest research result from Xu Fuqiang’s group of Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has intuitively revealed that alcohol directly participates in the metabolic process of the brain as an energy substance and partially explains the mechanism of alcohol addiction. Relevant papers published in the recently published “PNAS” magazine. By working with the NMR Research Center at Yale University in the United States, the researchers tracked the metabolic behavior of alcohol in vivo using molecular probes that are visible by magnetic resonance. Through self-developed alcohol steam room equipment, researchers provided a stable alcohol vapor environment for rats and established a long-term “alcoholism” animal model
