On the eve of the founding of New China, the first large-scale drama “Hongqi Song” that positively demonstrated the new life of workers premiered undoubtedly has a special significance in the history of socialist literature and art. It uses forward-looking direct description of the labor and life style of workers who are about to become new social masters as narrative patterns to show the portrayal and longing for future life and to express the aspirations and experiments of workers as masters of their own affairs. Today, when workers’ social status as a class is obviously marginalized, we read and interpret the “red flag song” again. As we revisit the forthcoming victory of the revolution more than half a century ago and a new regime is about to be established, a 25-year-old young poet attempts to describe What kind of feeling would you give birth to that dream factory Utopia?
