津轻原产日本,系青森县苹果试验场育成。1975年命名,在日本是一个重点发展的品种。其产量占苹果总产量的20—25%。本品种适宜在国庆节前上市销售,是一个很有发展前途的优良中熟品种。该品种幼树生长势稍强、直立,萌芽率达75%以上,成枝力强,达3—5个。结果后长势中庸,树冠较为开张,开花结果较早。幼树定植三年开始开花结果,四年生开花株率达80%左右,以短果枝结果为主。据调查,四年生幼树,短果枝占68%,中果枝占18%,长果枝占14%,有腋花芽。果实圆形或扁圆,较大,平均单果重180克,底色黄绿,有淡红晕条纹。果形端正、有光泽、无果锈、皮较薄、蜡质中等。果肉黄白色,肉质致密、松脆多计,味甜,品质上等,可溶性固形物12%,8月中旬成熟,采前稍有落果。采收后可贮藏一个月。为改善津轻着色不良的问题,日本又从该品种中选出了着色较好的轰系、坂田系等津轻着色品系。
