Readers should not misunderstand the name “law and revolution” by Harold J. Boman, whose subheading “The Formation of the Western Legal Tradition” more accurately summarizes the content of this work. Boman’s argument is: From the 12th century to the 13th century, the “Western” attitude clearly appeared in the treatment of laws and legal organizations. Moreover, these legal organizations perform their functions in a specific “Western” way. The term “Western” is not a purely geographical concept but a cultural concept.
