Wu Dalang is a tragic example of the ordinary villain in the bottom society where Mr. Shi Naian exerts his utmost efforts and is also a unique symbol and concept in Water Margin culture. It not only refers to the incarnation of the character and destiny of a certain kind of person, but also contains rich tragedy connotation. The causes of his tragedy are many and intertwined. It is hard to distinguish between right and wrong and moral standards simply, which is worth considering and studying.
