最近在伯明翰大学举行的第17届国际机床设计及研究会议上,R.H.汤姆斯和R.L.J.劳森(J.Lucas 公司的集团研究中心)曾就旋转式车刀的发展情况作了报告。这种刀具已成功地解决了十分困难的加工问题,并为延长刀具寿命和提高工件的加工质量带来了很大好处。问题最初是集中在车削交流发电机转子齿组装锻件的外圆上。车削时,工件为半成品组装件,其两端各有一根突出的中心轴。组装件的外圆上有许多分隔开、但却在法向上啮合的三角形齿。就是这些齿的外表面必须车削;由于各个齿之间是隔开的,因此形成了间断切削。
At the recent 17th International Machine Tool Design and Research Conference held at the University of Birmingham, R.H. Thomas and R.L.J. Lawson (Group Research Center at J. Lucas) reported on the development of rotary turning tools. This tool has successfully solved very difficult machining problems and has brought great benefits to extending tool life and improving workpiece quality. The problem was initially centered on the outer circumference of the turning alternator rotor tooth assembly forgings. Turning, the workpiece is a semi-finished assembly, each end has a protruding central axis. The assembly has a number of spaced apart, but triangularly-toothed teeth on the outer circumference. It is the outer surfaces of these teeth that have to be turned; as a result of the separation between the individual teeth, an interrupted cut is formed.
