花腰傣,是傣族的一个支系,主要分布在云南省玉溪市新平彝族傣族自治县的红河谷流域和戛洒江流域,人口有4万多人,占全省花腰傣的95％以上,有傣雅、傣洒、傣卡3个分支。他们是古哀牢傣王国贵族的后裔,一直保持着古哀牢傣王国的传统文化习俗,服装也还是那样高贵华丽。因为妇女们的腰部环绕着彩带形的“花腰”,所以,被其它民族亲切地称为“花腰傣”。
Huayao Dai, a branch of the Dai, is mainly distributed in the Red River valley and the Hommang River valley of the Xinping Yi and Dai Autonomous County, Yuxi City, Yunnan Province. The population is more than 40,000, accounting for more than 95% of the Huayao Dai population in the province, with Dai Ya, Dai sprinkle, Dai card 3 branches. They are the descendants of ancient Ailao Dai kingdom, has maintained the ancient Ailao Dai Kingdom’s traditional culture and customs, clothing is still so noble and gorgeous. Because women’s waist around the ribbon-shaped “Huayao”, so by other ethnic affectionately known as “Huayao Dai.”
