唐坰出身名门,性情耿直,其文人风骨颇受时人推赏。受家学影响,精于书画收藏,擅诗词书法。黄庭坚等人认为“往时唯唐林夫学书知古人笔意”。唐坰常与苏轼诗文往来。苏轼早期书法不被士人们看好,唐坰却对他寄予了厚望,且常送他墨、砚、诸葛笔等。苏轼与唐坰书法均注重自性与天真的自然流露,具有尚意书风的明显特征。 Tang 坰 came from well-known, straightforward temperament, quite popular scholars of his style. Affected by his family, good at painting collection, good at calligraphy. Huang Ting-jian and others think “the only time Lin Tang Fu learned ancient writing”. Tang 坰 often communicate with Su Shi poetry. Early calligraphy of Su Shi was not favored by the scholars, but Tang Gao placed great hopes on him and often sent him ink, inkstone, and Zhuge Pen. Su Shi and Tang 坰 calligraphy both pay attention to the natural self-nature and innate appearance, with the clear style of writing style.
