Objective To investigate the value of multi-slice spiral CT angiography (MS-CTA) in assessing the formation of delayed cerebral vasospasm (DCVS) and the dynamic changes of cerebral vasculature after nimodipine intervention. Methods Thirty Japanese white rabbits were divided into simple subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) group and nimodipine intervention group (n = 15). The DCVS model of rabbit cerebral basilar artery was made by the secondary injection method in the occipital cistern. The MS-CTA was performed on the 1st, 4th, 7th, 11th and 14th day before and after modeling respectively. The original image three-dimensional post-processing volume reconstruction technology. Results The diameter of basilar artery in SAH group and nimodipine intervention group on the 1st, 4th, 7th, 11th and 14th day after modeling was significantly lower than that of the model group (all P <0.05); while SAH alone group and nimodipine group Intervention group at the same time there was no significant difference (P> 0.05). Conclusion MS-CTA can rapidly and accurately observe the formation of DCVS and the dynamic changes of cerebrovascular after nimodipine intervention.
