Objective To observe the clinical effect of Salvia miltiorrhiza injection combined with edaravone in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction and to explore its effect on plasma homocysteine (Hcy) level and daily activities. Methods Eighty patients with acute cerebral infarction who were treated in Huidong County People’s Hospital from March 2013 to March 2015 were selected and divided into observation group and control group according to different treatment methods, 40 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were treated with Salvia miltiorrhiza injection, while patients in the observation group were given Salvia miltiorrhiza injection combined with edaravone. The volume of cerebral infarction, plasma Hcy level, NDS score, daily activities, clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results There was no significant difference in the volume of cerebral infarction, plasma Hcy level and NDS score between the two groups (P> 0.05). The volume of cerebral infarction in the observation group was smaller than that in the control group, and plasma Hcy level and NDS score were lower than those in the control group Control group (P <0.05). The daily activity ability and clinical curative effect of the observation group were better than that of the control group, and the incidence of adverse reactions was lower than that of the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Danshen injection combined with edaravone in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction clinical curative effect is exact, and can effectively reduce plasma Hcy levels and improve their daily activities.
