March 1838 Henry Thoreau Thoreau (1817-1818) Thirty years old, Harrison G. O. Black (1816 - 1898) is one year older than Solo. Thoreau left the lakeside on September 6, 1837, twenty-six months after the retreat of Walden, and six months later Thoreau received the following letter. Thoreau wrote most of the manuscript for his first book, “A Week of the Concord and Merrimack Rivers,” which was not published in May 1849. The first draft of the “Walden Lake” is also finished here, “Walden” is his second and most famous book, and it will not be seen until August 1854 . Thoreau only published these two books in his life. In a third letter, he said he was now living in Emerson’s home and was accompanied by Emerson’s wife Lydian (1802-1892), doing some chores at the same time Dean’s Emerson (1803-1882) is teaching in England. From the following letter, Blake said after 42 years: “Maybe the best service I’ve ever done for my fellow-countrymen, as generally our best service, admits him before Thoreau becomes famous It was beyond my expectation, as he said, ”this is a living opportunity,“ and offered him an opportunity through my letter ... ”I put the passage in this letter.
