The trace amines (TAs) are a family of endogenous amines with structural,metabolic,physiological and pharmacological similarities to classical monoamine neurotransmitters.The TA family includes tyramine,octopamine,β-phenylethylamine (PEA),and tryptamine (Figure 1).Their presence has been well documented in all vertebrate and invertebrate species studied.
