Hyaluronic acid (HA) is one of the main components of the extracellular matrix (ECM) and participates in many physiological and pathological processes such as tissue remodeling, expansion of intercellular spaces, inflammation, and tumorigenesis. Studies have shown that the cellular effect of HA is caused by the binding of HA-binding protein on the cell surface to HA. Adhesion molecule CD44 is a cell surface receptor of HA. It is a very widely distributed cell surface glycoprotein, which is involved in the cell-cell Between and cell-matrix specific adhesions. In different cells, there were significant differences in the expression level of CD44 protein, the exons of V region exons, and post-translational processing. The results show that the interaction between CD44 and HA plays an important role in embryonic cell development, immune response and tumor growth and metastasis.
