2007 seventh issue of “vitamin, know how many” after the publication of a text, by many readers. As a companion piece, this article will detail the minerals that also belong to the essential nutrients of the body. Minerals are the general term for the inorganic substances that the body needs. Minerals, like vitamins, are essential nutrients in the body and serve different biological functions to maintain the normal functioning of the body. Minerals can not produce their own minerals, can only be taken from the outside world, daily intake is basically determined, but with age, gender, physical condition, environment, work and other factors are different. According to the amount of minerals in the body, can be roughly divided into two major categories of macroelements and trace elements. This article will highlight six of these major elements - calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, chlorine and nine trace elements - iron, zinc, selenium, copper, molybdenum, iodine, chromium, cobalt and manganese. So, what are their functions, why they are called “indispensable”?
