20世纪80年代以来,美国为了在日益激烈的国际竞争中占据主动地位,特别是出于称霸世界的战略需要,愈加重视创新人才的培养。为此,政府大力推进教育改革,鼓励学术界开展旨在加快培养创新人才的理论研究。研究美国在培养创新人才方面的措施和经验,对我国具有一定参考价值。开展创新理论的科学研究20世纪40年代,美国广告商亚历克斯·奥斯本在其公司发起创新研讨。1954年,奥斯本作为布法罗州立大学的董事会成员,促成该校建立“创新教育基金会”。60年代,创新作为一门学科在美国开始得到重视。1985年,布法罗大学“创新教育基金会”更名为“创新研 Since the 1980s, in order to take the initiative in the increasingly fierce international competition, the United States has paid more attention to the cultivation of innovative talents for the strategic needs of hegemony in the world.
