CD24, a mucin-like adhesion molecule that has attracted much attention recently in oncology, is involved in the adhesion between cells and the proliferation and metastasis of tumor cells. It is considered as a new neuroendocrine differentiation and tumor diagnostic marker. The most striking is its relationship with the prognosis of patients. CD24 was overexpressed in epithelial ovarian cancer (83%), breast cancer (85%), non-small cell lung cancer (45%), prostate cancer (48%) and pancreatic cancer (72%) by immunohistochemistry. In addition to pancreatic cancer, the high expression of CD24 is highly correlated with the high invasiveness of the tumor. It is expected that CD24 as a prognostic marker may open up new diagnostic options in human tumors.
