李可染(1907-1989)江苏徐州人。16岁入上海美专学习,18岁任教于徐州艺专,1929年入杭州(国立)西湖艺术院研究生班,并参加革命美术团体“一八艺社”。1943年应聘为重庆国立艺专讲师,1946年应聘为国立北平艺专中国画教授,建国后任中央美术学院教授。曾任中国美术家协会副主席,中国画研究院(现中国国家画院)院长,第五、六、七届全国政协委员。
