Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of procaterol hydrochloride in the treatment of children with chronic cough. Methods: In this study, 96 children with chronic cough from June 2015 to June 2016 were selected from the Sixth People’s Hospital of Nanhai District, Foshan City based on the diagnostic criteria specified by the Pediatrics Branch of Chinese Medical Association. All children enrolled in the study The patients in each group were treated with conventional therapy. The observation group was given routine treatment according to the method of control group, and then oral administration of procaterol hydrochloride tablets. The respiratory function indexes of the two groups were observed and recorded , According to the improvement of cough to assess the effect of treatment and adverse reactions, and compared. Results: (1) Compared with the respiratory function before treatment, the peak expiratory flow (PEFR), forced expiratory volume at 1 second (FEV1) and maximum ventilation (MVV) in the observation group were significantly increased ) Were significantly lower than those before treatment (P <0.05). Compared with the control group, the PEFR, FEV1 and MVV in the observation group were significantly higher and Raw was significantly lower, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). (2) The effective rate of observation group was 95.83%, which was significantly higher than that of control group (62.5%). There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05). (3) There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion: Procaterol Hydrochloride is effective in treating chronic cough in children, which can effectively improve the respiratory function and relieve the symptoms of cough with few adverse reactions.
