Dietary behavior is a disease-related environmental variable; it makes children susceptible to certain diseases in the future. Food records and food memories merely portray one aspect of dietary behavior: it can provide actual intake over a given period of time. Enable health professionals to measure daily nutrient intake of children. Have students talk about various foods, beverages, condiments, cooking, eating places and eating times. Parents and school feeding staff are secondary sources of food for children, but they are an important source.
