木槿花是韩国的国花。韩国人对其有特殊的感情,把它称为“无穷花”,用以象征历经磨难仍然坚忍不拔和充满朝气的民族精神。韩国不仅在国徽上设计了木槿花的图案,1995—1999年还发射了三颗以木槿命名的卫星。南太平洋岛国斐济人也很喜爱木槿花,每年8月都要在首都苏瓦市举办为期一周的木槿花节(红花节)。节日期间,人们都戴上禽兽和神鬼面具,参加木槿花皇后竞
Hibiscus flower is South Korea’s national flower. Korean people have a special feeling about it, calling it “Infinite Flower”, a symbol of the national spirit that remains perseverant and full of vitality after suffering. Korea not only designed the pattern of hibiscus on the national emblem, but also launched three satellites named after the hibiscus in 1995-1999. Fiji, a South Pacific island nation, also loves hibiscus and hosts a week-long Hibiscus Festival (Safflower Festival) in the capital city of Suva each August.
