It is estimated. 10% of American women have varying degrees of urinary incontinence in their lifetime, especially in older women. As people’s average age increases, the incidence continues to rise. Control of micturition depends on many factors: the anatomy of the urinary tract, the control of the nerves, and the direct and indirect effects of general conditions on the urinary system. Physiological control of urination Urination depends on the balance between urethral closure and bladder detrusor function. The former relates to the tension of the urethra: including its elasticity, smooth muscle or striated muscle, the supply of urethral vascular composition and urinary sphincter α by
