郑板桥的绘画属于人文画范畴,他的绘画在艺术上继承了古代文人画的传统,但精神上则继承了明中叶以来的反传统、崇尚个性解放的新思潮。他反对墨守陈规,不拘泥于法而自有法,用笔洒脱,构图新颖别致。充满了豪放的精神和隽永的情调。板桥的文学功底也颇深厚,他把诗、书、画、印这四种独特的艺术形式,有机的柔和在一起,并且上升到了新的高度。板桥的作品充满了思想性、创造性和战斗性,他把深刻的思想内容和优美的艺术形式结合在起来,形成一种超越一般文人画的风格特征,即板桥风格。
The painting of Zheng Banqiao belonged to the category of humanistic painting. His painting inherited the tradition of ancient literati art in art, but in spirit he inherited the anti-tradition since the middle of Ming Dynasty and advocated the new trend of liberation of personality. He objected to sticking to stereotypes, not sticking to the law and self-owned law, pen and detached, novel and unique composition. Full of bold spirit and meaningful atmosphere.
