世界卫生组织(WHO)和国际抗癫痫联盟(ILAE)(此组织为与WHO建立正式关系的国际非政府专业组织,在发达和发展中国家设有52个国家协会)将联合发起世界抗癫痫运动,估计将有4000万癫痫患者从中获益。 在开始阶段,此运动的目标在于提高群众和专业人员对癫痫的认识,把它视为一种可治疗的脑部疾患,从而改变人们对它的态度和消除无知和神秘感,最终目的是在世界范围内改进对癫痫的治疗、服务和预防。 由WHO、国际抗癫痫组织(ILAE)和国际癫痫局(IBE)代表组成的国际协商小组,其任务在于制定政策及实施具体组织工作。这样做是为了引起全世界病人及其家属的重视。该小组由ILAE主席、伦敦癫痫研究所所长Reynolds博士任组长。
The World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Anti-Epilepsy Coalition (ILAE) (which is an international non-governmental professional organization that has formal relations with the WHO and has 52 national associations in developed and developing countries) will jointly launch the World Antiepileptic Campaign. It is estimated that 40 million epilepsy patients will benefit from it. In the beginning stage, the goal of this campaign is to raise the awareness of people and professionals about epilepsy as a treatable brain disorder, thereby changing people’s attitude towards it and eliminating ignorance and mystery. The ultimate goal is to Improve the treatment, service and prevention of epilepsy worldwide. An international consultative group composed of representatives of the WHO, the International Antiepileptic Organization (ILAE) and the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) is tasked with formulating policies and implementing specific organizational tasks. This is done to draw the attention of patients and their families worldwide. The group was chaired by Dr. Reynolds, chairman of ILAE and director of the London Epilepsy Research Institute.
