According to media reports, 890 kinds of dictionaries were published in China from 1949 to 1979, and up to now 8,000 kinds have been published since the reform and opening up. Especially after 1990, the type and number of dictionaries have dramatically increased. While embodying the hard work of many experts and scholars, it is needless to say that various types of dictionaries have entered the market in large numbers, meanwhile, more and more serious quality problems have emerged, arousing much concern in academia. Earlier, Li Xingjian editor of the “Dictionary of Modern Chinese Dictionary,” the publication of the Chinese academia caused fierce debate. Some people have pointed out that the content of this debate has gone beyond the evaluation of a dictionarrier, and it is not just about language norms and dictionary compilation. However, the impetuous study style emerging in the field of dictionary publishing can not be ignored for the future development of the dictionary industry, especially for the potential harm that the students, especially primary and secondary students, who have to rely on the dictionary for their study and growth.
