《国画家》刘建平先生:首先感谢贵刊对我们中国花鸟画九人探索交流展作品及评论的发表,也感谢许多观众及读者(包括网友)对我们作品的关注,不论褒贬都是对我们的鞭策。我们这个展览在北京展出后,经贵刊及其他报刊的评介,也产生一定的影响,先后应汕头、厦门、深圳、威海有关方面邀请在各地展出,反映热烈。此外还有几处地方邀请,拟安排前住展览,进行学术交流。看到董三白先生给刘建平先生2005年1月24日的信,我们除表示欢迎外,借此略述我们的观点作为讨论。我们的展览在厦门及以后的展出中已更名为新写意花鸟画展,参加人也略有变化。我们认为“写意”是中国画传统中最核心、最可宝贵的内容和精神实质,也是中国画能独立于世界艺术之林的价值所在。“写”是指书法用笔的抒情性、表现性,即
