在整个妊娠期间大鼠卵巢中都可见到有腔卵泡 .这些卵泡具“生理”上的不成熟性 ,即使在hCG诱导下也不能排卵 .实验意欲探讨妊娠大鼠卵巢卵泡细胞是否具有甾体激素合成能力 .而甾体激素合成灵敏调节蛋白StAR是甾体激素合成的关键调节因子 .用StAR反义RNA探针和抗StAR兔血清通过原位杂交和免疫组化检测妊娠各期大鼠卵巢中卵泡StAR的表达情况 ,以直接证实这些卵泡是否能合成甾体激素 .结果表明 ,正常性周期中动情前期或动情期有腔卵泡的膜细胞和靠膜颗粒细胞表达StARmRNA和蛋白质 ,而妊娠期间卵泡的颗粒细胞和膜细胞均不表达 .这证实妊娠期间的卵泡没有甾体激素合成能力 .
