The cinnamon bark was derived from the bark of the cinnamon family Cinamomum cassia Presl. It was identified by the Institute’s biopharmaceuticals and contained cinnamon aldehyde and cinnamic acid [Yuan Axing et al. Pharmacy Bulletin 1981;16(10):5].
