Open hearth, converter slag instead of limestone and fluorite as ironmaking flux, in foreign countries, from the fifties onwards has already begun to adopt. In recent years, Canada, Western Europe and Japan have all adopted the new technology of comprehensive utilization of flux and slag instead of flux materials, and achieved great technical and economical results. According to the composition and physical and chemical properties of steel slag, and the use of the blast furnace, we believe that the use of slag flux in cupola furnace may also be successful. To this end, we have tested, per ton of molten iron with 45Kg converter slag instead of the original limestone, fluorite, for cupola flux, the effect is more
