After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the change of political system and economic turmoil, Russian literature demonstrated profound and complex transitional features in the 1980s and 1990s. The literary schools of realism, modernism, post-realism and post-modernism, while maintaining their own independence and uniqueness, have mutual influence, mutual penetration and mutual remolding, forming a unique landscape of Russian literature during the transitional period.
