对5年9个月生三种密度(1666株/hm~2、2222株/hm~2和3333株/hm~2)两种配置(16.66株/hm~2,株行距分别为2m×3m、1m×6m)尾叶桉试验林的研究表明:密度越大的林分,其冠幅、胸径、树高、单株材积、蓄积量就越小;密度间除保存率、林分蓄积量差异不显著外,其余性状的生长量均有显著的差异;3333株/hm~2的林分生长量明显低于其它两种密度。1666株/hm~2(株行距2m×3m)和2222株/hm~2的经济效益最好,定植5年9个月后可分别获得2.17、2.18倍营林费用的纯利润。在同是1666株/hm~2的情况下.株行距2m×3m的配置优于1m×6m的配置。视林地质量和经营措施的不同.1666株/hm~2(株行距2m×3m)和2222株/hm~2(株行距1.5m×3m)均是尾叶桉短周期(6年)工业用材林造林适宜采用的密度。
