In this experiment, the contact toxicity and residual virulence of the fipronil, an antiepularis ant to fire ant, against the red imported fire ant and two local dominant species, Tapinoma melanocephalum and Pheidole fervida Aiming at evaluating the control effect of the agent on the fire ant and the safety of the ant on the non-target ant to provide a reference for the protection of the local ant. The results showed that the LC 50 values of fipronil to three kinds of worker ants, Solenopsis aurantiacus, Solenopsis hystrix and Rhododendron truncatum were 0.0365 mg / L, 0.0786 mg / L and 0.3707 mg / L, respectively. L. The LC 50 values of fipronil to Acacia melanoxylon, Solenopsis invicta, and Prunus dulcis were 0.9569 mg / L, 1.1319 mg / L and 1.6663 mg / L, respectively. Under the two conditions, the sensitivities of the three kinds of ants to fipronil from strong to weak were black smelly ants, red ants and red ants. Residual virulence of fipronil to S. invicta and C. dabryanus decreased significantly with the treatment time prolonging with the concentration of 3 mg / L, but the residual virulence of A. fusiformis was not significant decline. This study shows that the fipronil, which is a nematicide infusing agent, not only has the effect on the red imported fire ant but also has a strong contact effect on the non-target ant, but it may vary according to the species of ants. Therefore, , Its impact on the species that overlap with the target pest niche needs to be included in the comprehensive assessment.
