The instrument’s language and instrument genre spread a radiant area stretching from the South East Asian continent through the Indonesian archipelago to the Philippines. These musical instrument structures that use common derivative words are not necessarily the same, but share the same musical and social functions. Sappi can be seen as a source of music culture in Southeast Asia, elucidating its many in-laws affinities with mainland and island traditions, and understanding the related traditions is important.
