东亚诸“小龙”的腾飞不能简单地归因于儒家文化，而是资本主义市场经济加普选基础上的代议民主制再加儒教伦理温情“三合一”的结果。所以中国现代化中的借鉴态度是：在制度层面，坚决地建设社会主义市场经济体制和完善社会主义民主宪政体制，创造一个良好的制度背景，在文化层面，坚持以马克思主义为主导和对西方文化有选择地吸收．坚持对传统文化的承优剔劣。仅就儒学而言，应使其成为一种伦理生活的样态，而不是政治生活的工具。
