先秦儒家认为,“和”是宇宙万物存在和发展的内在根据、本质规律及运行状态,是人们立身行事的价值目标、评判准则和理想境界,是人们处理自然、人际、社会的原则和方法。“和”的核心内容是多种不同成分、要素的和谐统一,宇宙万物的存在和发展体现为一种“适度”的状态,即“中”。先秦儒家提出“礼以制中”、“仁以适中”,倡导“中和人格”,依靠内在之仁和外在之礼致中达和。
Pre-Qin Confucianists hold the view that “harmony” is the intrinsic basis, the essential law and the running state of the existence and development of all things in the universe. It is the value goal, the criterion and the ideal state for people to act in their own right and is the principle and method for people to deal with nature, human relations and society. The core content of “harmony” is the harmony and unification of many different elements and elements. The existence and development of all things in the universe manifest as a “modest” state, namely “medium”. Pre-Qin Confucianism proposed “ritual system”, “benevolent moderate”, advocated “neutralizing personality”, relying on inner benevolence and external etiquette to reach harmony.
