PTEN is a recently discovered tumor suppressor gene with phosphatase activity, which regulates the cell cycle and induces apoptosis by regulating the dephosphorylation of multiple intracellular signal transduction pathways. The loss or mutation rate of PTEN gene in breast cancer is high, and its loss of function is closely related to the malignant transformation of breast cancer. Studying the expression and function of PTEN in breast cancer is of great significance for further understanding of the molecular mechanism of breast cancer development and provides a new indicator for early diagnosis and prognosis.
