今年元旦刚过,浙江婺剧团《断桥》剧目的原班人马又一次在杭州为出席浙江“三农”会议的各级领导献演,获得满场热烈掌声。至此,号称“天下第一桥”的婺剧《断桥》演出已逾千场。
早在上世纪60年代,浙江婺剧团首次晋京汇报演出,便受到老一辈国家领导人的亲切接见。周恩来总理看了婺剧汇报演出后说,他看过很多剧种的《断桥》,婺剧的《断桥》表演风格独特,别具一格,可谓“天下第一桥”。从此婺剧《断桥》声名鹊起。
如果说一曲《十五贯》救活了一个剧种,那么一曲《断桥》由于总理的一句话因而名闻天下。
上世纪80年代末,浙江婺剧团在原来《断桥》的表演基础上,进一步加以革新,在服装上作了较大的改进,吸收了敦煌飞天的服饰式样,充分解放演员的肢体语言,给观众以人体线条美,并在表演身段上汲取了现代芭蕾动作造型。为了使几位青年演员有舞蹈的感觉,剧团还专门送他们到浙江省歌舞团进行培训,此外在音乐上也作了较大的调整。运用了小提琴、大贝司、爵士鼓等西洋乐器,在灯光上也充分发挥灯光效果,给观众以美的享受。
张建敏、陈美兰、赵姝珠、周子清四名年轻演员在第二届浙江省戏剧节上演出的《断桥》终于脱颖而出,获得了“青年演员一等奖”、“浙江省艺术明星奖”、“浙江省新花奖”等,尔后又在首届中国越剧节上荣获三枚金牌。
后来《断桥》剧组晋京演出,得到首都观众和专家的一致好评,著名戏剧理论家郭汉城还题写了“举国同夸第一桥”的赞语,不久陈美兰、张建敏又先后荣获中国戏剧梅花奖。在一次座谈会上,名编剧顾锡东说:“浙江越剧小百花有五朵金花,婺剧小百花也有梅、兰、菊、竹。”
一折《断桥》从1985年至今演出已逾千场,上至国家领导人、艺术专家,下至农村广大观众,无不对《断桥》精湛表演给予高度赞扬。现在,《断桥》的几位演员中,陈美兰仍在浙江婺剧团,为一级演员,曾荣获“文华奖”、“梅花奖”,享受国务院特殊津贴;“梅花奖”得主张建敏已从舞台走上讲台,担任金华艺校校长,为培养下一代婺剧人才正在默默地耕耘着;扮演许仙的国家一级演员周子清正在研读戏剧导演艺术和戏剧理论,现任金华艺术学校副校长,扮演许仙的另一位国家一级演员赵姝珠已调至浙江昆剧团。
婺剧《断桥》曾参加过第十一届亚运会艺术节、首届中国戏剧节、97香港回归戏曲节、2004香港中国戏曲绝技表演、上海国际艺术节、法国“中国文化艺术节”、1995年1996年新加坡“华文化艺术节”以及日本、罗马尼亚等十多个国家和地区的演出,为促进中外文化交流和宣传浙江文化做出了贡献。观众们说:“什么是精品?像《断桥》这样百看不厌的戏才叫精品。”

1,000 Performances Testify to Vigor, Popularity

Shortly after the New Year's Day in 2005, Zhejiang Wuju Opera Troupe staged in Hangzhou their 1000th performance of Broken Bridge, a Wuju masterpiece that first made its fame in the 1960s.
Broken Bridge in Wuju Opera was performed a few times in Beijing with top state leaders among the audience. Late premier Zhou Enlai once commented that of all the "Broken Bridge" versions in various operas he had watched, the Wuju version was the best and could be called the first bridge under the heaven.
In those days, a favorable remark by the country's premier sounded like the best review a troupe could have. The troupe became famed and survived the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976).
In the 1980s, the play was modernized to cater to the taste of new audience. Costume, music, choreography, and lighting were all redesigned. The new born Broken Bridge won a few top awards for its young performers and for the play itself.
Since 1985, the troupe has staged more than 1000 performances, including those in overseas theaters.
