Since the beginning of the 21st century, the global automotive industry has boomed and the number of cars scrapped has also been staggering. These scrapped cars often contain a variety of toxic and hazardous substances, posing a serious threat to human life and the environment in which they survive. The EU is the earliest legislation, the establishment of scrapped car recycling system. Since then, other countries have followed suit and introduced regulations and scrapped car recycling systems to manage the deteriorating environment in these countries. These new laws and regulations are a new challenge for the emerging automotive industry. Chinese enterprises should take active measures to defuse the green barriers in developed countries and seize the opportunities for the rapid development of the automobile industry.
