2000年6月9日,江泽民在全国党校工作会议上作了《加紧培养适应新世纪要求的中青年领导干部》的讲话,号召全党同志特别是高级干部,要有战略眼光,切实把培养造就一大批适应新世纪要求的中青年领导干部这项重大的政治任务完成好。具体到培养中青年干部的方法和途径,江泽民引了前人的三联著名诗句,来形象地概括其要旨。这三联诗句是：“我劝天公重抖擞,不拘一格降人才”、“千磨万击还坚劲,任尔东西南北风”、“等闲识得东风面,万紫千红总是春”。

This triple poem is: “I urge heaven and earth tremendous shy, eclectic talent down”, “thousands of millisenth also strong, Ren Seoul east-south wind,” “east face knowing, always colorful.”
