元杂剧中的预言以算卦、梦境和诅咒三种形式存在于公案剧中。盛行在民间的占卜风俗是预言出现在杂剧中的文化环境。现实生活多艰,个体生命脆弱地呈现在元人面前;世风浇薄、道德滑坡集中体现在公案剧之中,致使预言的内容集中关注着生死问题并审视着时代的社会道德意识。预言的存在增强了元杂剧的叙事性,除了形成悬念、营造恐怖外更将杂剧的悲悯之情指向了现实生活。
Yuan Zaju’s prophecy in the hexagrams, dreams and curses in three forms exist in the case drama. The prevailing fortune-telling in folk is predicting the cultural environment appearing in the drama. The difficult life and the fragility of individual life are presented in front of the Yuan. The worldly culture and the moral decline are embodied in the drama series. The content of the prophecy focuses on the issue of life and death and examines the social morality of the times. The existence of the prophecy enhances the narrative of Yuan drama, in addition to creating suspense and creating the horror, it points more to the real life than the compassion of the drama.
