汉画(汉代画像石、画像砖及其铭文等的合称)是我国文化宝库中的璀璨明珠,早期道教题材的内容十分丰富,保存有很多汉代重要神祇的图像及其名字的铭文,太上老君图像及铭文就是其中的典型代表。我们收集整理的51幅鸟喙人身图像和灵鸧铭文真切地反映了太上老君在汉代的真形与雅号,弥补了文献记载的不足。这些以往不太被注意的汉画材料的有效识读,对于补阙纠正汉代信仰世界的原始面貌和早期道教基本形态研究中长期存在魏晋以前太上老君没图像这样的失误,具有十分重要的意义。

Laojun images and inscriptions is one of the typical representatives. The 51 beak body images and the nirvana inscription we collected collected truly reflect Laojun Laojun’s true and noble numbers in the Han Dynasty, making up for the lack of documentation.
