C_(50)型敞车自1952年至1976年生产了几万辆,这些敞车在铁路运输中起到了重要的作用。由于料源的变化、组装工艺方法的不同,以及其他因素,C_(50)型敞车共10余种设计图纸,加上厂修时加装改造,使现场运用中的C_(50)型敞车的品种更多。这给检修工作带来一定的困难。根据价值工程学说从经济效益方面分析,车辆使用到一定年份之后,修理时所付出的费用已超过车辆运用所能创造的价值。因此,各种车辆都应有合理的使用年限。一般情况下,各国敞车使用年限都定在25年左右。我国现在尚未制订这方面的标准。根据目前的情况,C_(50)型敞车运用年份至少已近10年,多则30余年,虽经加装改造,有些C_(50)型敞车仍已超期使用或接近经济寿命。加上设计、制造时的一些缺陷,使C_(50)型敞车检修中的问题增多。根据上述情况,除应按价值工程学说修订报废条件,并尽可能多地生产和购置新型大吨位敞车之外,如何使C_(50)型敞车检修时方案合理、检修费用少,且便于检修与运用,同时保证车辆有足够的强度和刚度,是C_(50)型敞车检修中应当注意的问题。这里集中发表几篇C_(50)型敞车检修方面的文章,以期促进C_(50)型敞车检修工作的改善。
