Objective To understand the personality traits of airborne troops and provide empirical evidence for the selection and training of this population. Methods Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (adult) was used to test the personality of 1038 airborne soldiers. Results The P, N and L dimensions of the airborne were significantly lower than those of the military and the E dimension was significantly higher than that of the military (P <0.05, P <0.01). Airlift personal outward and outward outward accounted for 62.52%, inward and inward introverted 11.56%, intermediate 25.92%. Emotional stability and propensity for stability accounted for 38.34%, instability and instability who were 29.00%, intermediate type 32.66%. The personality traits of airborne soldiers under different conditions were P and L. The scores of scores increased with the increase of job grades, while the scores of E and N were opposite (P <0.05, P <0.01). The scores of E decreased with the increase of education and the scores of L increased (P < 0.01). The score of P, N in non - only child was significantly lower than that of only child, E score was significantly higher than that of only child (P <0.01). P, N and L scores of rural children were significantly lower than those in urban ones (all P <0.01) Recruits E, N score was significantly higher than the veterans, L score was significantly lower than veterans (P <0.05, P <0.01). Conclusion Personality traits of airborne troops tend to be outward-stable in general, and their emotions are more stable with the increase of their occupational status, education level and military age. Some of them have neurological / mental propensity. It is suggested that the sources of good soldiers should be established, psychological counseling stations should be established, mental rehabilitation and bad behavior rectification should be strengthened so as to raise the mental health level of airborne troops.
